** Please note the addition of flexible drop off and pick up times to accommodate different school finish times and travel times. ** Monday after school art club is suitable for all creative kids, as we explore different artists, techniques, mediums and styles. This term we will once again welcome guest artist Kate from Loominescent Textiles for a festive special session half way through the term!
Drop off time between 3:30 - 3:50 and pick up between 4:30 - 5:00 every Monday term time (following the Derbyshire term dates).
The first 15/20 minutes will be relaxed warm up sketches, time for snacks (please send children with snacks if they want them),and an introduction to the lesson plan whilst everyone arrives, and the final 20 minutes will include tidy up and quiet sketching. We will be using a range of art materials, usually following a different theme each term and occasionally abandoning this theme for specific events happening in or around New Mills. Previously this has seen all children creating art to enter for Hayfield Pro Loco competition, creating posters for the One World Festival in New Mills, or painting footprint decorations for The Tent People festivals. This term I'm very excited to reveal that we will be decorating Christmas trees for Lyme Park! Children will learn techniques and develop their art skills as well as their confidence. From painting, drawing and sketching to sculpting and model making, each child will learn techniques suitable for their age and ability, so although ages may range from KS1 right up to KS3 and 4, activities will often be instructed for their age groups.
Sibling discounts have been applied for two children, if you have more than 2 children wishing to join please let me know so I can add this option too.
All sessions are created by artist Pippa, who is DBS checked and has an appropriate levels of Paediatric First Aid training.
