Hayfield Primary school after school art club

We will be using a range of art materials, usually following a different theme each term and occasionally abandoning this theme for specific events happening in or around the school. Previously this has seen all children creating art to enter for Apple Day, creating posters for the One World Festival in New Mills, or painting footprint decorations for The Tent People festivals.

Children will learn techniques and develop their art skills as well as their confidence. From painting, drawing and sketching to sculpting and model making, each child will learn techniques suitable for their age and ability, so although ages may range from Yr 1 to Yr 6, activities will often be instructed for their age groups. This term we will also have additional assitance from local artists and art assitants, so we can continue to provide the amount of support needed for our young artists to really learn and grow their art skills.

Children can bring their own snacks with them to eat at the start of the session whilst we get the room ready and discuss what we will be doing (I know how hungry children get after school!).

Sibling discounts have been applied for two children, if you have more than 2 children wishing to join please let me know so I can add this option too.

Both artist Pippa and assistant's Lauren, Zo and Tamsin are DBS checked and have appropriate levels of First Aid training.
